Last week, we announced upcoming changes to table charts . We’re excited to share that these improvements are now available! 🎉
Any new chart that you create will reflect the new experience. However, to see the changes reflected in your existing charts, migrate your table charts before September 22. If you migrate your table chart before then, you can review your settings from the old table charts and use them as a reference when migrating to the new table charts.
Starting today, creating a new table chart will show the latest table chart experience. For any table charts created before today, you must perform the migration process outlined below to use the new experience.
We understand that this change may cause disruptions, and we want to assist you in the best possible way. To make this transition easy, we’ve created step-by-step migration instructions.
ℹ️ Update on the download feature for new table charts: Any new chart you create will reflect the new experience, however, when you download a new table chart, it will still show the old experience in your document. We understand that this might be frustrating, and we want to assure you that our team is actively working to resolve this issue. What if I don't migrate?
You won't lose the table chart or any associated data if you don't migrate before September 22, 2023. However, any selections you’ve made to the following settings will reset:
Default column formatting
Any custom formatting that you’ve applied to specific columns in your table
Conditional formatting rules
To reference your old table chart and apply your desired settings to the new table chart experience, we recommend switching your charts before September 22, 2023.
Why can’t you transfer all of my settings?
To streamline the formatting settings, we’ve combined the “Column” and “Conditions” tabs to create the new “Formatting” tab, which contains all of the same features. However, we don’t have a straightforward mapping between the old setting structure and the new one, so we can’t automatically transfer your settings.
If your old table chart uses any of the settings listed earlier, we recommend that you first create a copy of the old table chart before you migrate. This way, you can reference your old chart settings during the migration process:
To create a copy of the old table chart:
Hover over the table chart, then select More actions > Copy.
Select a new or existing dashboard to place the chart copy.
Open the same dashboard in a new tab to replicate them in the new table chart’s settings.
Note: It is recommended to arrange the tabs side-by-side to view the old and new chart settings at the same time.
Now that you have your previous settings visible, hover over the table chart you want to migrate.
Select More actions (…).
Select Edit chart.
Select the table chart icon located in the chart preview pane.
Note: You’ll notice that the previous table chart is accompanied by a warning icon. Select the table chart icon from the chart preview pane that doesn’t have the warning label.

Before you complete the migration, you’ll need to ensure your settings are how you want them.
Using your old table chart settings as a reference, select Chart settings () located in the chart preview to modify your settings. Learn more about table chart settings.
After you’ve applied your desired settings to the new table chart you can complete the migration process.
Note: After migrating to the new table chart, you can't revert to the old one.
To complete the migration:
Select Save your dashboard
Delete your old table chart if you’ve created a copy for reference.
We’d love to invite you to take part in creating a better table chart experience! If you’re interested in sharing feedback, leave a comment on this post to participate in a customer interview.
