Starting August 22nd, we’ll introduce new changes to table charts that will make them easier to customize and use on your dashboard. Any new chart that you create will reflect the new experience. However, to see the changes reflected in your existing charts, you’ll need to migrate them manually. To ensure a seamless transition, we'll provide manual migration steps on the day we launch the table charts.
Your table chart data is safe: The migration won’t impact the data that’s available in your charts.
We can’t migrate everything for you: Due to technical limitations and the differences between the old and new table charts, we won't be able to move all of your current settings automatically.
Any selections you’ve made to the following settings will reset to the default:
Default column formatting
Any custom formatting that you’ve applied to specific columns in your table
Conditional formatting rules
Once the new table charts are available, you’ll have until September 22nd to migrate and reference your old settings to recreate them in the new table chart. After this date, we’ll begin to automatically migrate any remaining old table charts to new ones. Table charts that haven’t been migrated will lose access to their old chart settings customizations, and the settings listed above will reset.
We’ll give more details about the migration process when the new table charts are available.
The new table charts eliminate the need to select "View all rows" or "Expand table" to access additional features. We’re also introducing subtitles and two new tabs to help you customize your data even further. Here are the new features:
Sort your data by selecting the column headers directly on the table chart.
Use page numbers and arrows to save a few clicks while navigating through your table chart.
Scroll horizontally or vertically to view all the columns.
Quickly find specific data by using the search bar to filter results.
Add descriptive subtitles to provide context to the information presented in the table chart.
We’ve combined the “Column” and “Conditions” tabs to create the new “Formatting” tab.
Here, you can apply consistent formatting to all columns in your table chart and create custom formatting rules for specific columns. You can also apply conditional formatting to highlight specific parts of your data.
This tab will showcase different ways in which you can visually present data. The first visualization feature that we’re introducing is heatmaps. Heatmaps use colors to visualize patterns within your data.
Color tab: We're removing the Color tab to work on a more accessible color palette for your table charts.
View all rows: We’ve removed the "View all rows" option because you can now sort, search and navigate pages directly on the table chart. That means "Download as CSV" is no longer accessible through this option. However, you can still download your table chart by using the More actions menu. Learn how to download a chart
