The Atlassian Analytics team has been rolling out a lot of improvements lately, and we are happy to share some of those with you here! Thanks again for your involvement in the Early Access Program—it has been exciting to hear all of your thoughts and input thus far.
Previously, you were only able to grant access to dashboards or data sources within Atlassian Analytics to individuals. Now you can grant access to groups! This is using the same groups functionality that is already being used across the Atlassian suite of products. You may choose to share access to an entire team or department via groups so you don’t need to add people individually to a dashboard or data source.
Note that you can only grant access to:
groups that you’re part of
groups that already have product access to Atlassian Analytics
We launched some improvements to Visual SQL to make the chart-building experience more seamless. Now, you can reorder query columns directly within the query and rearrange queries and transformation steps using drag-and-drop functionality.

We’ve also added a short Visual SQL video tour to guide Atlassian Analytics newcomers through creating their first chart. It appears when you open the chart editor for the first time. If you dismiss it but want to watch it again, you can find it in the Help menu when you’re in the chart editor.
We also released various bug fixes in the platform and updates to the starter dashboards including better axis labels, linked to the documentation for each starter dashboard, corrected queries, etc.
In case you missed the announcement, Opsgenie and Insight data are coming to the Atlassian Data Lake! If you have Opsgenie or Insight and want to opt into the early access by actively providing feedback and hopping on calls with our PMs, send an email or fill out the signup form linked from the announcement.
Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback on the Atlassian Data Lake so far! Based on the feedback, we will be releasing an improved version of the Atlassian Data Lake schema that will make it easier to query and build charts. This change is expected to go out in July and will result in breaking changes to existing chart queries. More information will be shared as we get closer to the new schema release.
