A user was created as Jane Doe (jane.doe@company.com) and started using Jira projects and submitting tickets.
Her name changed to Jane Buck and her email changed accordingly to jane.buck@company.com. However, a Customer of Jane Buck (jane.buck@company.com) was created and then to further complicate matters, a User was created of Jane Buck (jane.buck@company.com).
The Jane Buck User ended up opening tickets but never actually worked within other Jira proejcts while the old Jane Doe User account was being used for working issues in projects.
I successfully moved all the tickets where the Jane Buck User was the Reporter to the old Jane Doe account through bulk updates. I suspended then deleted the Jane Buck User account. And also deleted the Jane Buck Customer account. Only the Jane Doe account remains.
The Name on the Jane Doe account has been updated to Jane Buck but I'm stuck not being able to update the email address to jane.buck@company.com. It's telling me the email address is already in use by someone else however, all instances of that email have been removed from what I can see.
Is there something I'm not able to see or a place I need to look elsewhere to ensure the email had been purged?
Thanks.
