I am in the process of setting up JIRA for a project that I'm working on. We have a purchasing department that will be procuring a license for the product, but in the meantime I'd like to proceed with setup using an evaluation key.
If I generate an evaluation key using my personal Atlassian account & associate the key with the server ID for my target JIRA server, will it have any effect once the actual license key comes in? Will it be a simple matter of updating the license key, or will the server ID now be tied to my personal account?
I'm not sure how the purchasing process works, but if an Atlassian account is required, it most certainly won't be done using my personal account.
Once purchased, you can add technical and billing contacts to the licence.
I've just left a place with several licences, and removed myself from their licences, safe in the knowledge that my ex-colleagues are all named.
The individual people will need Atlassian accounts, but you name them by email address, and if you add new people by their email, Atlassian will email them to say "you've been named, you need an account, please set it up if this is correct"
