Connect G Suite and enabled SAML Authentification

Kevin Delord

Good morning folks!

At my company we would like to configure the G Suite to sync our users automatically.

At the same time, we would like to set up Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML for the Atlassian Cloud Application.

Here the documentation on Google that I found:
https://support.google.com/a/answer/7553615?hl=en&ref_topic=6304947

Will the SAML integration also sync the Google users onto the JIRA platform?

Are those two features compatible? Which approach is the most appropriate for us?

Thanks in advance!

Kevin

Hi @Aya AlJboor,

Atlassian Access is licensed by unique users.  By that I mean if all of the users with a Confluence License have a Jira Software license, then yes you would need 100 users licensed.

However, if the Confluence users are different people from your Jira Software users, you could need 150 Atlassian Access licenses.

Additionally, you can setup a "Non-billable" Atlassian Access policy you can add users to so you won't be charged for an Atlassian Access license for them.

However, they will also not be able to benefit from the features of Atlassian Access like SSO authentication.

I hope that helps!

Very good point @Jimmy Seddon ! I made a very flawed assumption here. 😕

You will want 100 and that is what would be allotted as it will follow your max #users licensed for any Atlassian application.
