Invited by a consultant

We engaged a consultant who uses Atlassian\Confluence and they invited several of us to a page. As a company we do not use Atlassian products and the project will last longer than 30 days.

There is a free Confluence account for up to 10 users. However, it looks like Atlassian is a 30 day trial and our project will last longer than the trial. Atlassian allows easy access to all products but is it necessary to create an Atlassian account to access Confluence?

Hello @Jaime Perez ! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The Atlassian account is how you authenticate to the cloud-based products such as Trello and Confluence cloud.

So the bottom-line is if you don't use the product(s) but a vendor does and invites you. You have to create a paid Atlassian account and administer it for your internal users.

Thank you for you reply!

Actually, your vendor is essentially "paying" for the Atlassian account in the form of licenses for your use.

Your vendor should also be shouldering the administration as well.

For free 10 user tier, there is no expiry date. but these free user tier having some limitations.

please check below --> https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/pricing

For Atlassian cloud products Jira and Confluence or any other they use SSO for all their applications by using Atlassian account.

Yes once you created a Confluence account, the same will be used for all Atlassian tools stack like Support, Community, other products and etc.
