For on-prem JIRA and Confluence, if I switch from local login to using LDAP will it recognize users

Right now I login locally to Jira/Confluence using <Username>. If I switch to use LDAP authentication, will all tickets/folders currently assign to <Username> still be assigned/work, or does it treat this as a new identity?

You should be fine as long as the user names remain exactly the same. When you switch you can run with user duplicates as an intermediate step (keep the users in both the internal user directory and in the ldap user directory. It is the user directory with the highest order in the user directory table that serve the users logging in.

Have a nice weekend!
