Change Org admin that left to a new user

Hello,

I am trying to change the Org admin which was set to a previous employee that left to a new user (myself). Unfortunately, there is only one Org admin setup: the ex-employee.

I do have access to his email, but not his login password. Tried to login as the previous user and get a login mailed to his account via the "Send recovery link", but that link never arrived (tried many times; other emails do arrive to his account; nothing in spam).

Is there a way to either:

- add me as a new Org admin, or

- send a recovery password to the current org admin so we can login there and add the new admin ourselves?

Thank you for the details. 

Checking on our tools, I found a bounce on his email address, that's why you were not receiving the reset password email.

550: 550-5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try 550-5.1.1 double-checking the recipient's email address for typos or 550-5.1.1 unnecessary spaces. Learn more at 550 5.1.1 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=NoSuch... - gsmtp

Only an Org admin can add or remove other Org admins, so since you have access to his account, it will be necessary to log in with his account in order to do that. I also suggest adding other site administrators as Org admin to prevent this issue from happening in the future.

Please, try to reset the password again and let us know how it goes.

Tried again (same email, checked for spaces before), but now it worked. Managed to change the org admin. Don't know what magic you did or what went wrong, but thanks for the help!
