Hi All, We are planning to migrate our on-premise server to atlassian cloud jira. We also want to enable SSO integration on our cloud jira. I want to know how to achieve these both.
1) Enable SSO.
2)Migrate data to cloud.
3)Grant access to the groups imported from server.
Are the above steps correct ? Please help with the correct steps so that , we can have a smooth migration.
Thanks, Bhargavi M
Hi Bhargavi,
You can definitely do that, and it's recommended you do so, to ensure that you (as an admin) and others can access a site before you migrate.
As you're enabling SSO, you'll need to subscribe to Atlassian Access. Have a quick read at https://www.atlassian.com/software/access and then click Get Started.
Once you're there, you'll then verify your domain, and then proceed to set up SSO, by synchronising users (so step 1, then step 3, then step 2).
To migrate data, you'll need to assess what method works for you. Have a read of the Cloud Migration Center, then decide whether you'll migrate project by project or as a whole site. You'll have to consider your add-ons/apps too of course.
Cheers, Jimmy
