Azure AD User sync question

Hello, I'm getting ready to set up a connection between our JIRA Service Management instance with our Azure AD environment. My question is, when I begin to setup the user sync option, will these users be notified that they are now members of this group or does this happen silently in the background? We are in a POC setup right now and not wanting to spam all our customers (or even a small group) of users if they are added to this instance.

I have done a similar thing, and our users weren't notified by email when they were synced.
