Is is possible to assign Atlassian product roles to users from Azure AD?
For example have security group A - assigned to the administrator role for Jira?
@Matt Russell it's definitely possible. You can use groups that are synced from Azure AD just like any other group in Jira.
Follow these instructions for assigning groups to top level admin roles, just click the "add group" button instead of directly assigning a user to one of the built-in groups: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/update-product-access-settings/#Updateproductaccesssettings-Giveusersproductadminpermissions
And these for project permissions in Jira: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-project-permissions/
Hi @Dave Meyer thanks for your reply - this is already clear on how to do however i'd like this process to be more automated if possible, for example to map azure ad groups to existing groups within Atlassian without needing to have the display name at both ends being the same. So map group name app-atlassian-jira to a group named Jira access in Atlassian?
