Add another user as system administrator

Hi,

I am trying to add a user with all system administrator permission, as I am the system administrator, he also should be able to perform all the activities.

He need ALL DELETE ACCESS (projects/users/issues...everything).

I tried updating global permission but there is not such permission setting to assign system-administrator to a group

For now I have made the user the organization admin - but need to understand if there can be more than one system-administrator?
If not then how to transfer the permission to another user?

Please help.

Hi @Deprecated (AD),

What @Yogesh Mude has mentioned "should" work.  At this point my recommendation would be to take a look at what groups you are a part of that the other systems administrator user isn't and add them to those groups.  If they still can't delete the project in question, can you share what error message they are seeing.

Also just to be sure, do you only have one instance of Jira in the Cloud?  I just want to be sure the other system admin isn't connecting to a test instance vs the instance you are trying to add permissions for.

I hope that helps!

HI @Deprecated (AD)

Welcome to the community!

Can I ask you..Is that you are trying to provide system admin access on the Jira cloud? or server?

He needs ALL DELETE ACCESS (projects/users/issues...everything).

If the user requires the above rights and if you are using Jira cloud then you need to provide product site admin.

If you are using the Jira server then instead of giving him Jira system admin rights ..provide Jira administrator rights .

Thanks for your response @Yogesh Mude

I am using Jira Cloud, and I have given the user the jira administrator, site-admin, administrator permissions. Also have made the user an organization administrator, yet he cannot delete projects.

How can I transfer my ownership or copy my ownership permissions for him as well?

Thanks.
