Introducing issue hierarchy in JXL - Project management was never easier in Jira

Hello community!

As promised in my introduction post a few weeks ago and by popular demand, we're now happy to announce support for issue hierarchy in JXL for Jira. And without further ado, this is what it looks like:

issue hierarchy.png

For the JXL users among the readers, you can check it out by enabling hierarchy via the button in the table toolbar on the upper right-hand side of your sheets. When this is switched on, your issues are displayed in their hierarchical relationships (see row handles and indentation on the left of the table).

In this first version of the feature, the basic issue type levels are recognised (sub-task level, standard issue level, epic level). Next up is support for issue type levels above epic level, configured via the Advanced Roadmaps settings in Jira Software Premium and Enterprise editions. In addition to that, we are working on customisable sheet hierarchy with structures based on issue link types, and many more awesome improvements.

It’s available in both JXL for Jira Cloud and JXL for Jira Data Center, and in Cloud for both company-managed (classic) and team-managed (next-gen) projects. So if you haven't already, and you’re looking to improve your overview and speed up your issue editing, take JXL for a spin for free for a month. Chances are you'll never want to go back. Grab a trial here on the Atlassian Marketplace.

I hope this was a useful announcement (if so, you may want to follow our blog as well). If anyone has any questions, please get in touch or comment. We’d love to hear from you. Stay safe. ✌️
