I have a quite important drawing draw.io in a page of a confluence document.

I want to make a copy of it on another page, in order to modify this copy without altering the original.

How can I proceed? Through which menus and commands?

Thanks for your help,

Regards

Claude

@Claude Schoen draw.io supports copy/paste, so you could create a new diagram and paste the old diagram into it.

  1. Open the old diagram for editing
  2. CTRL/CMD A
  3. CTRL/CMD C
  4. Open the new page and add the draw.io macro
  5. Give the diagram a name, and choose the "blank" template
  6. Click on the canvas and press CTRL/CMD V

There are other ways, like copying the draw.io attachment to a new page, but the method above probably works best if you're trying to keep things as simple as possible.

Another option is to embed the macro on a Confluence page and choose draw.io Diagram as a macro. After embedding it, the template manager will pop up (see screenshot). Here you can either have a look at the diagrams you created/modified recently (if you did adjustments to the drawing you like to copy), or you use the Search option to look up the original diagram. Select the diagram and hit Create (this will actually create a copy of the drawing that you can then modify without altering the original).
