The context is that I am using structure columns to show specific linked issues. Our Jira issues usually have two types of linked issues shown:
1. related Jiras (in the same DB, with traditional link types able to be shown or interrogated in a formula); and
2. semi-remote or remote links, such as commit lists (SWARM) or documentation (Confluence), or internal applications.
I need to be able to list the links from a specific remote source.
If I use a {JQL expression} in a formula I can test for the EXISTENCE of a remote link of the specific type - this tells me that there is something of interest linked to my issue, but it cannot disclose the IDENTITY of the link e.g. remote issue ID associated with my issue.
If I use the ordinary "Linked Issues" attribute in a Structure column, that will show me both the local AND remote issue identifiers, with category (COMMIT, "Intiated By" etc).
BUT I cannot capture that list to extract the specific remote links of interest (fortunately they have a distinct pattern of identifiers which I could parse/extract if the list itself were available).
So, is there a way to use the "IssueLinks" suite of functions in Structure Formulae to list and parse the full list of linked issues?
Many thanks
Paul
Hello @Paul Doman
At this time, the Formula column can't extensively work with remote links, and filtering through them is not possible. The only way to see the links in the structure, is by using the Linked Issue column - it indeed shows all existing links, internal and external.
