Hey Jira Community,

Could you share any experiences of using Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards by codefortynine available on JIRA Marketplace. Below is what we are looking for -

1.  We intend to have 2 different sprint teams. Can we use this extension to apply dynamic custom filter to switch the dashboard metrics between teams.

2. We see the extension available for free upto 10 users and we are currently on the Free plan. If we add this extension, does it just apply to the Project in question and hence the users under there or does the extension get applied to all users in the Org.? Want to understand this so we don't incur unnecessary costs just trying to play around with the filter. Also if need the filter full time, we would like to understand how this filter is applied so we know the costs it will incur to us.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Welcome to the community, @Swinston Dalmeida.

I am Marlene, product manager of Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards.

1. Yes, you can create a filter on your quick controller to filter the gadgets on your dashboard dynamically. Can you give me more details about how the teams are split up in Jira? Do they work in different projects. You can test how to filter dashboard gadgets dynamically with Quick Filters without installation on our demo dashboards.

2. The licensing and pricing is given by the Atlassian Marketplace licensing terms.Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Management (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps. You can read more about licenses and pricing in our documentation.

Feel free to also reach out to our support directly, if you have questions or feedback. We usually reply within one working day.

Hey Marlene,

Thank you for your response. Here are few follow up questions/clarifications -

1. We have 2 teams - Green and Blue team. One works on onboarding solutions on our Analytics Platform and the other works on Enhancing the platform itself. There can be little to some dependency between the teams but work independently on their stories. Both do follow the same Sprint timelines though. We ask for team based filters because our higher management would like to visit these dashboards from time to time and check on the progress of the respective teams. So wanted to confirm if we can create quick filters of below nature, for instance - Sprint 10 + Green team - which gets applied on the Burndown chart or Sprint Velocity Chart to check the progress of the Green team. Let me know if this is possible.

2. I am clear on point 2. Will check with my team on pricing and will get in case of any further questions.

Regards,

Swinston.

Hello @Swinston Dalmeida,

Sorry for my late reply.

With Quick Filters for Jira Dashboards you can create filters on the Quick Controller gadget, for any JQL filter you can create. So if  "Sprint 10 + Green team" can be written as a JQL, that it's also possible to put this as a filter button on the controller gadget.

My recommendation would be to create either a "Single JQL (Button)" or "Multiple JQL (Dropdown)" on the Quick Controller gadget. Doing that, you can define any JQL for your button/drodpdown.
