Adaptavist REST API Post requests returning 500 status

Tahir Idrees
August 2, 2018

Hi,

I am able to successfully send GET requests to the Adaptavist REST API, but when I try and send a POST request I receive a '500 Internal Server Error' status. I am using the API Documentation stated here:

https://www.kanoah.com/docs/public-api/1.0/

For example:

- The endpoint for the POST is /testrun

- http://your-jira-host:port/your-jira-context/rest/atm/1.0/testrun

- For the 'Simple request, using only required fields' the JSON data required to be sent in the in the BODY is stated to be:

{
  "name": "Full regression",
  "projectKey": "JQA"
}

The '500 Internal Server Error' status is also received when trying to send different types of JSON data in the BODY using the 'Simple request, using custom fields' and the 'Full request'.

This is also the case when trying to send a POST request to the /testcase endpoint passing different subsets of JSON data into the BODY as stated in the API documentation.

Has the API specification changed? What am I doing wrong, considering that the GET request are working and not the POST?

Thanks

You need to send the POST request to https not http.

- https://your-jira-host:port/your-jira-context/rest/atm/1.0/testrun

That should do the trick.
