Unable to get Resolved date automatically in custom field of JIRA

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I have created a custom field of date in JIRA, trying to fill the date with current date formula as "%%CURRENT_DATETIME%%", its not working.
The custom field created is not displayed in the drop down too. Requesting support.
