How to backup and restore attachments for asset objects?
If you're looking to backup and restore attachments for assets (formerly insight) objects in the cloud or even for the data center, this article is a must-read.
As you're aware, the application Insight Assets Backup & Migration allows you to create manual or automated backups for the asset schemas for cloud or data center instances. Once the backup is finished, you can restore and migrate the entire schema or only specific object types.
After the new application has been launched as an extension for Insight Assets Backup & Migration, named Assets Attachments Backup & Migration. With this new application, you are now able to create backups that include object attachments!
Before confirming the backup, you now have the option to enable attachments backup as well:
Once the backup and restore of objects are finished, you can begin restoring attachments for the objects. All types of attachments will be restored.
