The QARA Test Management for Jira (QARAJ) add on is a powerful add on that is designed to enhance the test management capabilities of the Jira platform. It is a useful add on for QA teams today because most QA professionals use Jira for test management, whereas it is a platform designed for bug tracking and project management alone. So, when used for test management, Jira can throw some challenges along the way.
The solution? Well, a Jira add on that enhances the test management capability of Jira is the need of the hour. The QARAJ add on serves the exact same purpose and so it is essential when you are working with Jira. The add on integrates Jira with the QARA Enterprise Jira test management tool, which means QA professionals can access Jira projects within the QARA Enterprise interface. This blog takes a look at executing test cases with the QARAJ add-on.
Test Case Execution with QARAJ Add On
Once we create the Testcases, they are reflected in the Execution module for execution. This module also showcases the Releases created under the Plan module, as well as the ones created in Jira.
Once you click on any of the Releases, an additional icon Add Test Cycle appears on the top panel.
Once you click on the Add Test Cycle icon, the Test Cycle screen appears. Here you need to enter the Test Cycle Name, select the Target Release from the drop-down, add other details if applicable and then click on the Save icon at the top right.
Once the Test Cycle is saved, two more tabs appear below it – Add Testcases and Add Testcases to Cycle.
Once you click on the Add testcases to Cycle tab, you find 2 tabs – Folder tab and the Testcases tab.
Under the Folders tab you can see the same folder structure as available for the project.
Under the Testcases tab, you can see all the available testcases.
Under the Testcases tab, you can select testcases and then click on the Save icon on the top right, to save the selected testcases.
**Note: These testcases will be added to the Test Cycle and displayed under the Testcases section.
Once you click on the Save icon, the selected testcases are added to the Test Cycle and they are available for execution using the Run icon. The Delete icon can be used for deleting the testcases.
**Note: We can multiple test cycles under a single Release.
Once you click on the Run icon, the Execution screen of the QARAJ add-on appears, with the Progress Bar at the top right.
Each testcase has a series of icons, which are as follows:
Click on the Execution History icon to view the Execution History of the testcase.
