Fast test steps execution

Manual software testers execute hundreds of test steps that are part of test cases every day. This activity takes up most of their working time and has to be carried out effectively to maintain high performance of testing.

TestFLO provides testers with a few simple yet useful features that improve changing the statuses of test steps. As a result, testers get to save a lot of time and focus on their actual work instead of wasting their precious time on paperwork. 

One-click change

Changing the status of a single test step is a basic and common operation when it comes to executing test cases. The number of clicks required to make the change is a key factor affecting the efficiency of test case execution. The Steps field in TestFLO allows testers to change the status of a step with a single click. Hovering the pointer over a status displays the selection in the form of colorful blocks.

Bulk change

Many manual testers tend to perform all the test steps first and then change their statuses in the test management software. In order to make this process faster, users can take advantage of the bulk change of statuses functionality. Two clicks - that’s all it takes to set a given status to all the steps.

Group change

The Steps field makes it possible to group test steps. Testers designing a test can create sets of test steps according to a common characteristic, e.g. the functionality, module, or system. When executing tests with groups of test steps, the tester might want to bulk change the statuses of steps, but only of the steps included in a certain group. This is particularly useful for tests with a large number of test steps gathered in groups. The Steps field allows testers to make such a group status change.

Post function

Automation is a good method of increasing speed when performing repetitive activities. Since changing the statuses of test steps is such an activity, automating it can significantly improve the testing process. Update Steps Statuses is an additional workflow post function that comes as part of TestFLO. It can be configured to change all test step statuses or only the ones that have not been executed. For example, you can add this post function to the Pass transition of the Test Case workflow to change all test steps to the Pass status.
