Adapting to Change in an Agile Environment

Change is normal in an Agile environment, but when it is so constant that it is overwhelming, what can you do about it? Do you start initiatives and then pause them, do you go through PI Planning and then after planning ends the plan has to change due to a decision made above your head, or do you have constant shifting priories? If so, here are some suggestions that have helped me that may also help you! 

1. Stay Flexible: always anticipate big changes coming and make it the standard by being willing to adjust plans and expectations as things evolve
2. Shift Your Mindset: think of change as a constant and embrace and view it as an opportunity for growth rather than a threat
3. Continuous Learning: stay curious and open to new ideas and skills
4. Adaptive Problem Solving: develop the ability to quickly adapt to situations by assessing and finding creative solutions to challenges
5. Networking: Build a strong network that includes people with different skills and insights who can provide guidance during times of change
6. Practice Self Care: put your physical and metal well-being first to maintain resilience and cope with the stress of change
7. Develop Emotional Intelligence: maintain empathy and self-awareness, which will assist in navigating relationships in changing environments
8. Adjust to the Change Curve quickly: Determine how you will get out of the "valley of despair" quickly and move toward adopting the change. Spend less time admiring the problems with the change and start moving toward resolution quickly. 
9. Become a Leader of Change: Get really, really good at adapting to change and you  may become a leader in this space one day! 
10. And lastly and most important, Stay Optimistic and Look for the Silver Linings:  Always keep a positive outlook and focus on the pros over the cons
