Subtask changing to another issue type in Plan

Lola July 24, 2023

When creating a subtask from the Advanced Roadmap plan view by clicking on the Story and selecting create sub-task from the pop-up menu, an issue is created but it defaults to Test Execution type, not Sub-task (I seem to remember that the old Jira used to do something similar with creating Stories as Spikes but that is irrelevant now). Did anyone know why the subtask issue type is changing

I believe you will need to check your plan's issue sources configuration first to determine where the Story Issue Type is coming from which Jira project.  Afterward, you need to check the project in question to determine what issue types are used for the project.

Out of the box, the subtask issue type is named "Sub-task".  Make sure it is configurated for your project that provides the input to your plan.

Hope this helps.

That did not resolve the issue. We only have one sub-task in this environment and it being used by all projects. anytime we create a sub-task from plan it automatically changed to another issue type.
