How to display Complete epics in Roadmap gantt chart?

We are new to Jira Cloud and I'm loving some of the new abilities to use the Roadmap feature to share progress against projects by sprints.

One issue I'm running into is I can only seem to get Incomplete Epics to show in the view pictured below. When toggling Epic display options to Complete, the image attached shows my view and is empty.

I did verify the Resolution field is populated, but is there a specific value or additional field I need to reconcile so this feature will allow me to display Done/Closed epics appropriately? Thanks!

Hi @Jay Egan

Welcome to the community.

I can only imagine that no Epics meet the criteria of "Complete" within the bounds of the Board's filter query.

If you take the boards filter query and adjust it to incorporate:

type = Epic and statusCategory = Done

So that you are filtering under the boards usual conditions but further filtered to show you just the completed Epics.

What do you get?

Thank you for the reply! I do have all of the respective epics I would see on our board, yes. Our board filter did not exclude them and I verified that by including the above as well and get this screen shot of some of the epics I recently marked as done that no longer show on the Backlog tab (expected) but are the same ones I would hope would show as Complete on the Roadmap feature.

OK, cool. Now all you need to do is configure "Exclude any completed issues after" section so that they are back in the plan.

Got it! One thing I should clarify is we do not yet have the Advanced Roadmap license. I am doing some testing on the standard version to test out if we would want to recommend upgrading. Is enabling the historical view like the above possibly a reason why I might not be able to adjust as I expected?

I will otherwise get with our admin folks and gain access to adjust as you suggest above.

Yes @Jay Egan I imagine so.

The exclusion rules are in the Plans configuration. You should be able to access and set per plan.

A word with the Admins is a good idea though.

Good luck!!
