How do I Link an initiative to a theme

I have both the theme and initiative issue types.  I can't seem to find out the mechanics of connecting them.  I thought I could go into the init and use the parent link but it doesn't find it.

Hi Kelly:

In the new AR, theme usage was phased out.  You will need to switch your AR plan (New Improved UI) back to using the old "Live Plan" to utilize Theme.

Maybe Atlassian AR team will bring it back, it was a useful function.
