VersionUpdatedEvent and VersionReleaseEvent fired at the same time when a project version is release

I am using Version event to send out email notification to user. I am currently registered to both VersionUpdatedEvent and VersionReleaseEvent, and when a release is make both event get fired at the same time.

This created 2 emails notification as both of this events are independent of each other. Is there a way I maybe I can distinguish a version release update from VersionUpdatedEvent so that it will not send out an email from the event?
