Log Time form validation

Hi! I cannot find the information about validation of Log Time form (tempo).
Could you tell me if there is any way to validate this form data before it is sent? Can I add any custom button click handler on Log Time button? Listeners are not suitable because they process events after the event (time log saving) has already occurred. I need to prevent the data saving. Tempo support cannot help me. I can write a validation script with Script-Runner, but I have no idea where it can be applied.
