Hi Community,
I’m Natalie, a Product Marketing Manager on the Platform team. You may have met me at an Ascend event or seen one of my previous community posts.
Moving to the cloud involves more than just moving your data. It requires adopting new ways of working, receiving organizational alignment, and inspiring change management. Below, you’ll find the latest tools we’ve shipped and resources we’ve created to ensure you won’t navigate the journey alone. Let’s dive in!
🆕 New migration tools and updates
We’ve shipped new capabilities to support every stage of your cloud upgrade, from initial assessment and planning with Portfolio Insights to troubleshooting in-flight issues and handling post-migration cleanup.
Assess your footprint with new Portfolio Insights features
Portfolio Insights is a free data assessment tool in Atlassian Administration. It gives you a centralized view across your Cloud and Data Center environment to understand the health of your instance and build a clear, actionable migration plan.
Here’s what’s new with Portfolio Insights:
➡️ Identify and clean up inactive Data Center data before you migrate
Portfolio Insights and Instance Optimizer for Jira (IO4J) now work together to turn Cloud Readiness findings into immediate remediation. Pinpoint unused data and exact guardrail breaches and bulk-clean items like stale automation rules and orphaned plans without leaving your Data Center environment.

The new streamlined assessments feature in Portfolio Insights offers a shorter, more focused action plan. The new Overview page shows your migration readiness, prioritizes critical tasks, and guides you to run a test migration, helping you reach your first test faster.

Prepare and plan with specialized tools and guidance
➡️ FastShift portal: Real-time visibility, progress tracking, and guided resources (now in Beta)
The FastShift portal gives enterprise migration teams and partners a shared command center. Built specifically for FastShift participants, it consolidates your project timelines, MOVE tickets, risks, and recommended resources in one view, cutting through coordination noise and helping your team launch your first test migration faster. Now in beta for FastShift participants.

➡️ Config entity deduplication: Preventing duplicate clutter in your Cloud site (now in pilot)
Config Entity Deduplication automatically detects and resolves conflicts between duplicate configuration entities during the cloud upgrade process. Gain clear visibility into duplicate entities and automated resolution for conflicts, so you don’t land in cloud with wonky suffixes like “(migrated)", "(migrated 1).

Execute your migration with AI-powered assistance
➡️ Meet the Cloud Transition Agent: Your AI-powered cloud upgrade buddy (now in Beta)
The Cloud Transition Agent is a new AI-powered assistant built right into the Jira and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistants. It performs root cause analysis on migration failures, summarizes what happened in plain language, and recommends specific remediation steps so you can get back on track faster. Now available in beta for FastShift participants, contact your Delivery Manager to join the beta.

Clean up and optimize your cloud environments post-migration
➡️ Post-migration reconciliation: making your data usable after cutover
We've matured our Link Management Service (LMS) and Jira Macro Repair (JMR) tooling so that cross-product links and Jira macros embedded in Confluence pages remain intact after migration. These improvements eliminate broken links, reduce manual remediation, and save admins hours of post-migration cleanup.
➡️ Jira ID Mapping Reports: self-serve your migration run data
Gain better visibility into your migrated data with auto-generated ID mapping reports in the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA). By mapping source entity IDs directly to their new Cloud destinations, this report gives your team an audit trail to trace and reconcile migrated objects across environments with confidence. Once your migration finishes, access and download the CSV directly from Logs and Reports in JCMA.
