👋 Hey Atlassian Community denizens!
It's time for another Welcome Wednesday, a chance for you to participate on the forums with questions and prompts that aren't necessarily about Atlassian tools. 🙃
For this week's question: What's your favorite ringtone?
📢 Looking forward to your comments! Maybe I'll even change my ringtone... 👀
PSA: If you've got Marimba set as your ringtone and you've never chosen it, choose something different and exciting please! 🤪🤪🤪
🤣 Yeah, my phone is mostly on vibrate.
When it's on, I currently have it play the jingle from when you walk into a specific Taiwanese convenience store. It amuses me personally, and no one really gets it unless they've lived in Taiwan.
That’s a good one 😀 I am still stuck with GOT (game of thrones) violin 🎻 ringtone! It’s been ages but still haven’t changed yet 🤣
My favorite video game franchise of all time is the Legend of Zelda. The Master Sword is even my profile avatar in my organization's Atlassian instance.
My favorite (and current) text tone is the chime when you find a secret.
I keep my phone on silent most of the time so I don't get too many opportunities to hear it but when I do, it brings me great joy and memories from a lifetime of playing LoZ games.
@Chris Rainey - YES! I used to have the rupee chime as a "you've got a new SMS" sound! Way better than the Super Mario Bros. gold coin sound.
Like @Anne Saunders, my phone is always on vibrate only...TBH, I probably wouldn't know my phone rang without my smartwatch!
@Amanda Barber - you just reminded me to DISABLE my smartwatch notification for when people call! One vibration is enough for me. 🤣🤣🤣
My favorite ringtone is probably silent mode 😄
After too many notifications during the day, silence feels premium.
My favorite ringtone for business is the theme of "Mission Impossible" - but I don't hear it that often because mostly it is on focus mode 🙈
@Iryna _Zhade Labs_ - "silence feels premium"
Agreed. 🙃
@Carsten Severin _KUMAVISION AG_ - love that as a ringtone choice, you really want to answer before it's too late 🥲
Back in the days when I had a Nokia my ringtone was the Airwolf theme, in fact I now have it as my ringtone again!
At one point I had my ex mother in law's ringtone as the Imperial March ...
Well, @Dave LIAO, although my ringtone was not set to Marimba, I was not excited about the one I have been using. Your question prompted me to change it. I have chosen Strum.
I don't usually use silent, but I set my ringer volume very low. Most times I also only know it's ringing based on my smartwatch.
Anyone who has their phone set to Marimba will never see this Community post. 🥲
For the rest of you watching this thread, have you seen the Taskmaster challenge where folks are supposed to make a music video from ringtones? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZuQko04kXk
My phone is basically on silent mode 24/7 🙈 At this point, vibrations and smartwatch notifications are doing all the heavy lifting 📱⌚
Also fully agree with the anti-Marimba movement. Some sounds instantly transport you straight back to 2009 😭
Yes, how else can our parents / grandparents get in touch with us?
My Dad is proud of the fact that he's never used social media and not sent a text for I don't know how long, he only uses email for formal communications, the phone has a curly cord, and his calendar is a physical calendar on the wall in the kitchen - technology has largely passed him by,
My phone is always on silent as well, however if I do happen to have the volume turned on my main ringtone is the Scooby Doo theme song :) Except for my daughter where it's Rainbow Connection from the Muppets. I often have emergency bypass turned on for my daughter (she's 17) and it scares me every time she calls. LOL.
My text message tone is the doorbell from the Jetsons.
One time, I had my ringer on and had set my phone on my laptop right by the microphone apparently (I have it docked so I rarely use my actual laptop). I run our daily standups and someone called and it blasted through everyone's speakers...
