How do I change my status on confluence (I am currently "I'M NEW HERE")

I see many other contributors have "Member", "Rising Star", etc... Just wondering if there are any milestones to reach, or any hoops to jump through to get any new status (I am also currently only Level 5: Leaf, so I do not know if there is a way to get a new status).

Hi @Kiam Venter and welcome to the Community!

You are new here because you have started interacting here in the community! And apparently you're doing not a bad job, as I see you've already reached level 6 since you posted your question 😀

Simply put, the label next to your name is a tag that helps community members quickly assess who we're talking to. When you're doing your first posts, you will see I'm new here. That may change over time to contributor, rising star or even Community Champion at some point. Much of this just happens automatically as you participate and help out other folks around here.

The levels you mention are part of the kudos program. You should see a kudos lozenge near the top right of your screen. By completing challenges, answering questions, liking content, giving kudos to other Community members ... you progress through the levels. The challenges are designed to help you discover content, so you connect and learn while you're here.

I'd just say: have fun connecting and discovering while you're here. The gamification part just adds a little to the fun.

@Walter Buggenhout Hi again, I checked the How-to-become-a-Rising-Star page, and I have more than the 3 posts required to be a member, and more than the 5 likes to be a contributor, so I am a little stumped as to why I am still in the "i'm new here" bracket. Sorry for the bother.
