Feed back on the community itself

I was trying to figure out where I could post to give feedback on the Atlassian community.

I couldn't find anywhere obvious, so I tried these generic sounding community groups.

Is there somewhere to discuss and suggest improvements to the community itself?

(I wanted to ask - is it possible to sort answers by date)

Hi @Aaron Lawrence

There are periodic surveys which pop-up in the community to solicit ideas, such as this one which just completed.  You could add a comment to that thread since the popups are gone now.

https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Community-Announcements-articles/Value-Analytics-survey-We-want-your-feedback/ba-p/3111429

And, please watch that announcement group for more in the future:

Also in the interim, you could directly email the community managers: communitymanagers@atlassian.com

Yes, and...I agree with your suggestion.  Specifically, I recommend suggested answers to questions display in this order:

  • Accepted answers first
    • Then by the number of votes, and then by increasing date / time submitted
  • When there are no accepted answers
    • By the number of votes, and then by increasing date / time submitted
  • When there are neither accepted answers nor votes
    • Sort by increasing date / time submitted

And, eliminate the feature which allows "pinning" of an Atlassian-preferred answer above all others, regardless of acceptance, voting, and date / time submitted.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Bill Sheboy  thanks, I saw the thread about Value Analytics but didn't seem like I should try and post a general feedback to that highly focussed topic.

I did eventually find the email, I guess that would do it... seems odd that they fall back to email to discuss a web discussion forum :)

I just wanted a plain choice to sort by date. When in these kinds of forums I find anything other than date very hard to work with.

For what you wanted to ask:

If you click on "Community" at the top of this post where it says "Community / Groups / Featured Groups / Welcome Center", it takes you to this link:

https://community.atlassian.com/forums/

From there at the top of the results, you can filter by:

  • Collection (All or choose a collection)
  • Type: Questions, Discussions
  • Sort by: Most recent, Oldest, Most views, Most likes, or Trending
  • Then change All to Solved to see the answers.

Edit: Looks like Questions type is only related to products and even when I tagged this post as "question", it does not become part of the filtered results. I had to select Discussions as well to see results from non-product groups, it appears.

Hope this helps!
