Welcome Wednesday: Traveling anywhere this year?

👋 Hi Atlassian Community!

🧳 Are you traveling anywhere this year for fun or work?

Going anywhere that you want to share? Anywhere interesting, anywhere you want to mention, anywhere you haven't been to before?

I know there are folks on Community who travel far and wide for different reasons, and others who can't or don't travel so far. "Travel" can be anywhere, even a short 30-minute train ride!

I will be making the trip from Texas to Anaheim in May for Team 26. Will be doing the drive solo this year so it will be quite the trip to CA. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the event.

I recently found out I am headed to TEAM in Anaheim, California for the second year. I'll also be headed to Toronto for a brief trip in June, as well as a family roadtrip to Pennsylvania from Wisconsin (with a stop in Ohio and probably Indiana!)

As for me, I'll be in Austin for RovoCon next week! 🌮🌵

And I might be investigating this door:

@Joseph Zinnecker driving for fun?

I mean, on purpose? :-}

But yes, also Austin for RovoCon, also Anaheim for Team. Boston for my kid's graduation after Team. Which yikes, I need to start booking those flights.

The RovoCon trip is actually an excuse to take a qualifying flight to earn a Southwest Companion Pass for later this year (Aug 10-Oct 7).

SO, hopefully a bunch of 2-for-1 trips during that timeframe. [Last year we took advantage of this and visited: Burbank (Disney Studio Tour + Walt's Office), Seattle (Bumbershoot), and Hawaii (Oahu and the Big Island).]

Hopefully they by then they'll have lightened up on all of the reported increased strictness about "moving about the cabin" (moving to an empty row, for instance) after takeoff.

Also hoping they don't keep jacking up their prices. :-/

This is only a short trip, but in just under 5 hours time I'm going to go to the O2 arena in London to watch my daughter perform in the Young Voices children's choir (https://youngvoices.co.uk/)

Our big family trip was last year.  However, we are planning a smaller trip up to Medieval Times in Toronto this summer.

I unfortunately won't be attending Team '26 in Anaheim :(

However, I am working with my manager on approvals to attend Team '26 Europe instead.

I'll be honest - a couple of years ago, I wasn't a huge fan of travelling. These days, I kinda like it (especially when someone else plans everything for me 😅)

But this year seems to be quite an eventful one:

  1. April - Amsterdam/Netherlands
  2. May - Anaheim (TEAM)
  3. July - Austria (festival 🕺)
  4. August (prob.) - Portugal (family trip)

Not yet planned anything for Q4 this year... might just stay at home and enjoy some peice and quite lol

I mostly stay home with our cats these days, but Anaheim (work), Toronto (work and play) and the UK are what I expect in 2026. Oh yes, and a few weddings out of state. I don't mind flying but airports really challenge me

I will be taking a big (30 miles) drive to RovoCon Orlando in a couple of weeks.

Other than that, my nephew is supposed to get married in Tulum, Mexico, in November. Given recent events, though, we're not sure if that will change. I will be going to the wedding, wherever it may be.

I just came back from a week in Cabo Verde with my mom (quality time ❤️), and the rest of the year looks like:

- Italy 4 days in March, was supposed to run a half marathon next to Lago Maggiore but due to a slow healing foot injury I'll just be walking and exploring instead! And my dad will drive there from where he lives in Switzerland (I live in Sweden) so will get some quality time with him too

- Anaheim, California and US for the first time in my life for TEAM'26 in May! (staying 11 extra days to do some exploring afterwards... Definitely will be fulfilling my childhood dreams and visit Disneyland 🤓)

-  "Work from home" but at my dad's in Switzerland for three weeks during June/July

- Visit grandma in south of France/visit Barcelona end of July

- TEAM Europe in October (wherever that might be 👀)

... And then I'm hopefully moving to a new house some time during this year as well, that will be a journey in itself 😅
