It's Thursday!

Okay, so I was looking for a credit card and went through an old wallet I keep them in, along with some other cards. I came across this old driver's license and saw the little sticker. My sticker has the number 2870 on it. Some of you might know what this was used for...

This was actually my membership number at a video rental :)

Sooooo, how many of you have a sticker with an number written on it on the back of your driver´s license back in the 80's and 90's?

Oh @Kristján Geir Mathiesen, for me, this may be a throwback too far for something so obscure. 😁

I've lived in multiple states in the US and 2 other countries since then, and don't have any of these old licenses. I know I belonged to a video rental store in the 80s, but I think I had a separate card just for that.

I was too young to have a driver's license and I don't remember any video rental store up in Canada that did this to my parent's drivers licenses.  Everyone one of them had their own membership card like @Barbara Szczesniak mentioned.

Except the very small local "Byron Video" (it doesn't exist anymore).  I simply just needed to provide my phone number and they would look up the profile in the system.

I will say that going to the video store to rent a movie is one of those things I really miss.

At the risk of spoiling the game, I can only offer a driving license with a sticker and a funny story.

In my case it's a member sticker / nfc token for the carsharing service DriveNow. I assume it won't work anymore in its initial function, but since my driving license broke into two a few years ago, it fulfills the important role of duct tape (together with some actual duct tape) 😅

I still have stickers on many of my IDs and some credit cards.  I don't recall if I ever had one on my drivers license.

Over half the little pieces of paper in my wallet are old passwords.

I don't want to be a killjoy - but is there any way to unsubscribe from this kind of content and keep the relevant things coming? Most of us are not here for social media. My only ID sticker is my donor sticker which isn't actually a little sticker anymore. It's just printed directly on the ID.

Wow, I've never had a sticker on any of my cards, but I have always had some stickers on the back of my phone - numbers, notes, everything that I needed to keep in mind :) It was a bad habit of mine that I conquered :)

Well, since last year, we don't need to have a hard copy of the license. It's available on the mobile app :)
