Travel Tuesday: Athens, Greece 🇬🇷 🤠✈️

Athens was one of those places that felt very different once I was actually there.

Of course, seeing the Acropolis and the Parthenon in person was special, but what stayed with me most was the contrast between the ancient city and modern Athens around it. You can be standing next to ruins that are thousands of years old, then a few minutes later be back in the middle of a busy, slightly chaotic city.

One of my favorite moments was seeing Athens from above around sunset. The city seemed almost endless, and it was one of those moments where I just stopped for a while and took everything in.

I also really enjoyed the smaller historic places, the Agora area, and the Panathenaic Stadium. Athens felt historic, busy, imperfect, and very alive  and I think that is exactly what made it memorable for me.

I was in Athens a few years ago, but in July rather than December.Amazing place!! My overall impressions: very warm & so many cats!

Hmm, that hotel was unintentionally located between strip clubs, even though it was in the city center.🤣

And how many tourists were there even by the end of December
