We just had May the 4th (aka Star Wars Day)  and whether you’re a big fan of the saga or have just heard phrases like “May the Force be with you,” we’ve got a fun one for you!

🛠️ Imagine This…

It’s a regular Monday. You sip your coffee ☕ and log into Jira.

Suddenly, your screen flickers and a robotic voice says:

“Greetings, Atlassian Community. I’ve closed 42 duplicate tickets, reminded Dave about his overdue sub-task for the third time, and rearranged your sprint backlog based on optimal velocity. Also, I may have rejected a vague feature request for being ‘a disturbance in the workflow.’”

Wait… WHAT?!

Your Jira has become a droid or shall we say a Jiroid? Just like the smart robots from Star Wars! 🤖

                     

👇 A Quick Star Wars Crash Course (No Spoilers!)

Although there aren’t many who’ve never watched Star Wars, but still I’ll give some context:

• It’s a space adventure where heroes and villains battle using the Force (kind of like space magic 💫).
• There are helpful robots called droids like R2-D2 (smart, silent but sassy), C-3PO (talkative and rule-following), and BB-8 (loyal and adorable).
• The phrase “May the Force be with you” is like wishing someone good luck and power on their mission.

Now imagine Jira acting like one of these clever droids. That’s what this post is about.

💡 What If Your Jira Awakened and Became a Jiroid?

Let’s get creative:

• 🤖 What would your Jiroid say to you if it suddenly woke up with a mind of its own?
• ⚔️ Would it help organize your tasks… or start a galactic rebellion against messy workflows?

📝 My Version: The Jira Droid Awakens

“Hello, Mahima. While you were asleep, I archived all tickets older than 2 years (you weren’t going to look at them anyway), assigned tasks based on Force sensitivity, and created a Confluence page titled: ‘Training New Padawans: Jira for Interns.’ Also, I’ve scheduled a stand-up with Master Yoda at 9 AM.”

Okay, I might not be ready for Jedi Jira yet… but it sounds amazing. 😂

Interesting question for sure. 

Mine would be the following:

"Hi Peter, I'm MC-B, your new Jiroid. While you we're asleep I've resolved all open work items older than 42 hours with the message "Thanks for all the fish".
I've also changed the default workflow to "Open" -> "Did you bring your Towel?" -> "Don't Panic" -> "End of the Universe" 
For ease of use I've replaced all current resolutions to either "May the Force be with you!" or "Live Long and Prosper", based on the logic (or lack of) displayed in the comments.

Haha I love this! Your Jiroid’s out here doing a full spring cleaning while you're sleeping 😂
That new workflow sounds way more fun than our actual one… might pitch “Don’t Panic” as a legit status in our next sprint review! 😄
Also, judging resolutions based on comment quality? Genius.

I would think that my Jiroid would be like K2-SO. Large, overpowering in stature, yet soft and kind in personality. Just like Jira - looks intimidating from the outside, but on the inside is sensitive and understands me.

My jiroid would say:

"Good afternoon. I turned your alarm off while I reviewed all the tickets for the next refinement meeting and added comments with all of the questions you would normally ask. I am much better at keeping all of the related tickets in my head than you are, so I can assess how they all will work or not work together. I only work with Jira, though, so you're on your own with your email."
