Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to a new week Atlassian Community!
July has been designated as Likes 4 Trees month in the community, and we can affect the planting of 50,000 trees by liking content in the community this month. You can read about all of the details in @Monique vdB's post here.
Liking content on the community is an easy process, and reinforces the contributions of community members new and old alike. It's a quick shot of dopamine that can motivate an author or commenter to keep coming back and contributing. You don't even have to subscribe when smashing the like button!
Over the next four Mondays, I'll be posting a discussion here in The Watercooler that will gather content for community users to come and like, helping us along the journey of planting 50K oxygen producing wonders of nature, which as of this posting we have already planted 7,463!
Have a great week, I can't wait to post another discussion next Monday and see how many more trees have been planted by then!
Also, anyone that has followed my posts in this community knows I am a committed Star Wars fan. My favorite animal? The Tauntaun!
As Han Solo famously said "Ugh. And I thought they smelled bad on the outside."!
And finally, as a kid that grew up outside of NYC, but spent a lot of time in Manhattan, I have always been mesmerized by the Gargoyle! Stone by day, alive at night, they protect the castles and their inhabitants from the forces of evil and darkness!
Happy Monday, everyone!
Loving the Likes 4 Trees initiative, it’s such a fun and meaningful way to give back while celebrating the awesome community we have here!
Meet Marble, my forever favorite and the goodest boy around! Dogs have always had my heart, and Marble makes every day better.
Here’s to spreading love, likes, and planting trees along the way💚
Special thanks to @Andy Gladstone & @Monique vdB
The image is not displayed for me. Please check if you can upload again!
SOOOO CUTE!! Marble looks like he either just stirred up some 💩 or is about to! 🤣
@Laurie Sciutti 😂😂😂
This is a fantastic way to plant some tree and get some fun pictures out there! I always thought I was just a dog person, but after marrying my wife, I learned that I am also a cat person. Here are 2 of my four-legged kiddos:
One of my favorites too! 💛
Not necessarily my favorite, but squirrels are definitely my spirit animal!
Here are some of my favorites 😊
I'm a huge fan of dogs, especially smaller breeds. I used to own (and love to own one day again!) a Petit Brabançon breed:
I have never seen a giraffe and it's my lifelong dream to see one 🦒
Another animal I really love is meerkat. Just look at how cute and silly they look:
And lastly - I love seals. They are basically just water dogs 😄
@Brita Moorus - our local zoo allows for feedings. Highly recommend!! Core memory for ME when my kiddos fed a giraffe, ha!
OMG! How adorable! 🧡🦒
I mean, c'mon, look at this face!! Penny brightens every day and is certainly my most likeable animal.
How cute! 💙
I am both a cat and dog person! I have (what I think is) an awesome tattoo of my cat Gracie who passed away, and we currently have 2 cats and 2 corgi puppies (Fili and Kili for The Hobbit lovers here). They don't look like puppies anymore, but they are almost 11 months now!
Love this @Sara Schneider . Here are a couple of pictures of my boy Eli that I lost a couple of years ago and the remembrance tattoo I got of him:
How can you not like them... they are always smiling at you!
But then again there is this girl right here that has my heart.... who am i kidding..... I love ALL animals (that don't slither that is)
Super cute, she is✨
So cute with her Teddy Bear ^^
Actually, they are all so cute and likeable !
Here is my cat Aslan, fierce and sweet
So silly!
I am going with the Jackalope. The whole concept just cracks me up. I even had a sausage at the rodeo last night called the Jackalope - it had rabbit, antelope and sweet cherry sausage in it. It was quite delicious!
@John Funk do you remember the show America's Funniest People (like AFV) that had a jackelope as like a mascot? It was voiced by Dave Coulier (Joey from Full House)!
Aside from my dog, I'd have to go with a wombat. Since moving to Aus a couple of decades ago, I've become obsessed with these waddling little fellas. Even the name is fun to say, especially if you do it in the style of Rowan Atkinson.
One of my favorite jobs was working at a goat farm, and during kidding season I would lie down on the ground and all the babies would jump on me and over me -- it was so fun, and hilarious. Baby goats are irresistible!
Wombats are so cute!
@Sara Schneider - that was my first thought, too! 😂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN72IOFs4zg&t=3s
Eeyore has always been my spirit animal. Is it any wonder that I gravitated towards a career in Software QA?
And there was no way I could resist when the local cat adoption shelter featured a cat named Eeyore. Luckily I was cat-less at the time so it was a no-brainer to adopt him.
So cute! It's also interesting to hear how the Winnie the Pooh characters are named in other languages 😄 In Estonian Eeyore is Iiah 🫏
In french Eeyore is Bourriquet and Winnie the Pooh is Winnie l'ourson
Probably doesn't count as an animal, but I'll go with favorite sci-fi species 😄
Well if we're going with favourite sci-fi species ...
@Mario GELES have you seen the cute way their blood melts through the floor, what's not to like about that?
You made a point. Ok ok I have to admit Aliens are really likeable beings LOL :D
The meerkat. You can't help but love Timone (from Lion King).
