After the update to v8.8.1, Home Directory Browser shows variable names instead of folder names

We love the Home Directory and DB Browser plug-in and use it often!

After the update to v8.8.1 DC, I see $file.name / $action.readableFileSize($file.length()) instead of the actual folder names.  If I click on one of $file.name links, I receive a 'site can't be reached' error.

Is there something we need to adjust in the new version?
