Feel Good Friday: What Atlassian event stayed with you?

Happy Feel Good Friday, Community!

Atlassian events come in all shapes and sizes: from the high energy of Team and webinars to those local meetups or small online discussions that unexpectedly spark a "lightbulb" moment.

For today’s Feel Good Friday, I’d like to ask: Which Atlassian event, session, or community moment has stayed with you the most and why?

Was it a practical automation tip that saved your week, a specific person you met, or just that great atmosphere of sharing "stories" ?

Maybe it was great  "Afterparty" Event ?

For those who haven't attended an event yet:

Which type of event would you love to join in the future?

Is there a specific topic (like ITSM, automation, or Cloud migrations) you’d want to dive into?

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! I’ll be spending mine catching some fresh air on the bike or out for a walk. Cheers!

I've made some great connections at our volunteer events here in Milwaukee! I also always love a coffee chat so we can connect on a variety of topics and problem solve together. My favorite event was with a former Atlassian, Mark Cruth, who led an amazing event on the Atlassian Playbook!

While I like TEAM events and virtual ACEs, those local in-person community events are usually quite cool 🙂 You can meet many new folks and hear some pretty interesting stories 👀

As for topics, usually real-life scenarios and examples are the best - you can hear how others implemented things and what some of the struggles they might have had.
I remember one of the recent events where one CMDB admin showed me the Assets schema graph, where you cannot see the 'white background' as there are sooo many relations between object types 😆🫠

Two events come to mind.

  1. My first ACE event when I rediscovered the Atlassian Community during Covid. It was a remote event cohosted by ACE NYC a Toronto chapters, and where I first met many of the community members and champions I am in touch with regularly today.

  2. Team ‘23. I was presented the Leader’s Choice Award at the Community Leader’s dinner and that award sits on my desk and is a source of pride for me and constant reminder of the connections I have forged in this community.

@Tomislav Tobijas

Yeah, events are great. That is one of the reasons I love doing IML marches, you never know who you will meet or what friendships might come out of it.

I hope I’ll have the opportunity to meet you all in person in Amsterdam.

There are many rememberable Atlassian events which I've attended, but I also still like most Atlassian Community Events where some strangers meet - and suddenly start talking with each other like they know each other for ages. I've experienced that myself in many different cities.

One ACE which was really fun was one in Toulouse with @Charlotte Aleksandrowicz - Elements Apps. In this ACE, there was first a talk about ITSM and then we were 3-4 marketplace partners who designed little challenges/tasks within their apps to be solved within a couple of minutes.
I had a lot of fun watching people try out the apps for the first time - or using it already for years - and competing against the clock in order to set a new record. Besides the fun, it was actually also quite some good feedback what works well in an app - and what not.

I'd love to combine more playfulness and having fun with actual useful information.
