I’m Asvini, the Product Manager for Atlassian’s new Backup and Restore experience. As you may know, our new experience went into open beta for customers who have at least one cloud enterprise edition license.
For customers taking part in the open beta, I’m thrilled to announce that we have launched the Automated Restorability Testing. Here is the support doc. This feature is designed to help customers evaluate the effectiveness of our new backup and restore solution.
How to Sign Up :
Org admins will be prompted to sign up for the Automated Restorability Testing program by logging into Admin Hub -> Data Management -> Backups . Upon enrollment, a confirmation email will be sent to all org admins associated with your organization.
Who should sign up?
Both active and new Backup and Restore customers eligible for open beta are welcome. To enable this feature, please ensure there are backups in place.
A backup is only as valuable as its ability to be restored. Our goal is to ensure that in the event of a disaster, your backups can be easily restored for organizations of all shapes and sizes. The only way we can definitively prove this is by doing it (less talk more action)! Automated Restorability Testing is a new Backup and Restore feature that validates the integrity of your backups—ensuring they are complete, uncorrupted, and ready to recover when needed. This proactive testing allows us to detect and resolve potential restore issues before they impact your business.

Receiving high-touch support from our team in the event of a failure - our engineering team will handle restore testing on your behalf and triage any issues end-to-end - at no additional cost.
Gaining operational assurance, knowing your backups are restorable.
Here’s how the feature would work:
When selected for testing, you'll receive a dedicated sandbox environment in your region, fully isolated from your production setup, and provided at no extra cost. The sandbox is automatically populated with data from your latest backup, ensuring your live production environment remains untouched. You'll be notified before and after the restore process. If successful, the sandbox is dismantled; if not, an automated support ticket is created to resolve issues, with the sandbox remaining active until resolved. This secure, automated process guarantees data privacy, and each organization can run one restore at a time.
