Is it possible to copy a Trello butler rule from one user and paste it into a rule on another user? This is the scenario: A user has set up trello butler and is leaving the company. Is it possible to copy these commands by copying and pasting the command text or do I need to recreate all the rules by setting up new commands from scratch?
You can definitely share rules with your team, but it can be a bit tricky.
To be clear upfront, rules cannot be _edited_ by a user other than the one who created it. So when sharing a rule, you're essentially sharing a copy of it that your team members can import and edit as their own, rather than _your_ rule.
The first thing you'll want to do is to add your rules you want to share to a Command Library (https://help.trello.com/article/1139-command-libraries). Once they are consolidated under a single tag, you can select that library from the Butler menu and enable the Shared slider.
After the rules are shared, your team members can open that same command library from their Butler menu and import the commands.

Brilliant and informative answer. This looks like it will solve a lot of problems. We had a lot of commands written by different users and when you look at the comments you can see butler commands under a number of names. With this method, we can keep control and move them into a service account, just in case a person that is leaving the company has vital Butler commands linked to their account.
I seen tags on Butler but never taught they could be so useful. I taught they were just for searching.
