How to filter Trello cards by fields/custom fields/amazing fields etc. Example using custom field drop downs that we created. You seem to only be able to search by a single search field to find what you type in within your card. If you have a 51 word multi selection drop down and you have to guess the exact match to a word in the drop down the single search line becomes useless. We need ability to search/filter by the drop down selection.

I saw online one of the responses to a similar question back when Custom Fields was a power up (prior to it being integrated into the paid Trello package) that when you clicked on the filter icon and it shows the filter pop up and it used to have not only the member, card status, due date etc headings you could filter under but it also had Custom Fields heading that showed the fields you had on your cards. You could then pick the field to filter on or the drop down field to filter the cards on.

Is there anything like this in Trello or that can do this. Filter cards using the drop down fields one created.

Hi @Dan Botham

Sadly not, the best options available to you are:

Use a dashcard for custom field filtering, not ideal but it can work and be pretty powerful

Alternatively, a Trick I use for drop downs is to use these automations, which enables filtering with labels:

Automation 1:

When custom field "Example 1" is set, remove the "{customfieldvaluebefore}" label and add the "{customfieldvalue}" to the card

Automation 2:

When custom field "Example 1" is cleared, remove the "{customfieldvaluebefore}" label
