Hello! Our company is planning to get onto Trello Premium soon, but our team is currently rapidly expanding. How will this work in terms of pricing?

Is it possible we get a step-by-step breakdown of the charges in terms of per person per month/year?

We have read some of the FAQs on this and still do not quite comprehend the pricing system. This is our vague understanding:

- 1st person joins and pays $119.99 for the year

- 2nd person joins in 3 weeks, pays nothing?

- 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th++ (unsure of total number but we could perhaps have up to 20 people over the year) person joins within the year, all pay nothing?

- After the year ends, $119.99 charge is split between all existing members?

Please rectify this if we have gotten any of the details wrong, thank you so much and hoping to hear from you soon!

Hi Aisha,

Welcome to the community! Happy to help answer your questions around billing.

I'll provide an overview of how subscriptions work in Trello.

All boards created must sit within a Workspace. When upgrading to a paid plan like Standard or Premium, you're upgrading the Workspace. When you upgrade, all users that are considered billable go towards your monthly or annual bill.

Billable users in Standard and Premium include:

- Member of the upgraded Workspace - either a normal member or a Workspace admin

- Multi-board guests - users added to more than one board in the upgraded Workspace.

Non-billable users include:

* Single-board guests - users that have been added to one board in the workspace - are not considered billable users. You can read more about how billing works with Standard and Premium [here|https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/how-billing-works-with-trello-premium-and-standard/].

In summary:

- User who is a member of a Workspace is billable.

- User who is added to a single board (and not the Workspace) is not billable.

- User who is added to multiple boards (and not the Workspace) is considered billable as a multi board guest.

Overall, a guest is just someone who isn’t a member or admin of a Workspace but added to boards that sit in the workspace. Whether the user is a member, admin or observer on a board, the same principles apply in terms of whether they're billable based on how many boards they are a member of.

What happens if you start with 1 billable user (and pay annually), and then add additional billable users?

We have a good example here that explains what happens. Let's say if you add an additional billable user (workspace member or multi-board guest), you pay a pro rated fee for the remainder of the billing period for that user and any other users you add:

Hopefully this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.
