Spammy email invitation to board from COO that he did not send

My company just got a large amount of emails that appear to be an invitation from our COO inviting them to join a board.   The details of this email look very similar to this thread

we do not use Trello so I am unsure how I can open a ticket to resolve this.  Any help would be appreciated.
