Request for Recovery: Closed Trello Board with No Remaining Members

이예지
February 9, 2026

Hello Trello Support Team,

I am writing to ask whether recovery is possible for a Trello board that is currently inaccessible due to a permission issue.

Here is the situation in detail:

  • A board named “SKT25” was closed by a board admin.

  • After the board was closed, board members were removed sequentially during a member cleanup process.

  • As a result, there are currently no remaining members or admins associated with the board.

  • Because of this, the board does not appear under “View all closed boards” for any user.

  • Accessing the board via direct URL results in a “Board not found” message.

This board contains important business-related information, and we would like to confirm:

  1. Whether recovery is possible from Trello’s side when a closed board has no remaining members.

  2. If recovery is not possible by design, could you please confirm this officially?

Additional information:

  • Board name: SKT25

  • Approximate closed date: February 7, 2026

  • Current plan: Free

We understand that Trello may have limitations regarding permission-based recovery.
We would appreciate your confirmation so we can proceed accordingly.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,
Yeji Lee

Hi Yeji,Thank you for sharing the board link!

I’ve looked into it, and I can confirm that the board you shared is not just closed—it was actually deleted. Deletion is a permanent action in Trello, and unfortunately, it’s not possible to recover permanently deleted boards.

Thank you !

Hi Sakshi,

Thank you for checking the board status.

I have a follow-up question regarding the deletion.

From our activity history, we can see that the board was closed on February 7, and members were removed afterward. However, we do not see any record or notification indicating that the board was permanently deleted.

Could you please clarify when and how the board was permanently deleted?

Specifically:
- Was the deletion performed manually by a board or workspace admin?
- If so, could you confirm which user account executed the deletion (if this information can be shared)?
- Or was it automatically removed due to any system policy?
- If possible, could you confirm the exact timestamp of the deletion event?

As this board contained business-related information, we require precise confirmation of the deletion details for internal documentation purposes.

Thank you again for your assistance.

Hi Yeji,

Would you mind sharing the board link with me? I’d like to check and confirm if there are any board members present on that board.

Thank you!

Hi Sakshi,

Thank you for your response.

Here is the board link:
[Board Link]

As mentioned, the board was closed and subsequently all members were removed, so it is currently inaccessible from our side.

Please let me know if you are able to confirm the member status and whether recovery is possible.

Thank you very much for your help.
