We were testing Trello as a team and using the Teams app.
Today we all realised our accounts were deactivated. We dont have no organisational admin, so we’re unsure how to reactivate them.
The error message indicated Atlassian had sent an email with all the details and contact information but I haven’t received it not even in my spam folder.
There’s no contact email and I had to use another address to post this message.
After checking online, I found this is a Trello issue. I want to learn how to fix it for myself and my team. Otherwise, we’ll need to download our data and I am unsure how to do that as well.
Can someone help?

Hi!

This is just my guess, but I think this happened because your company's IT department claimed your email domain in Atlassian. When an organization claims a domain (e.g., @yourcompany.com), they gain control over all Atlassian accounts using that domain — including Trello. They can deactivate accounts, enforce policies, etc.

This would explain why:

  • All your team accounts were deactivated at the same time
  • You don't have an organizational admin (your IT department is the admin)
  • You didn't receive the email (IT may control your mail system too)

What to do:

  1. Contact your IT department
  2. If IT can't help, contact https://support.atlassian.com/ directly
  3. Regarding your data — if you had board access before deactivation, your data is still there. Once accounts are reactivated, everything should be intact. Atlassian doesn't delete data on deactivation.
