Hello,

I started a free Trello trial several days ago but upgraded to Premium today because I need to use many of the Premium features today. Note: the free Premium trial does not allow me to use many of the premium features it states to be available in my free trial.

I keep getting a message to 'upgrade to Premium' so I did however I still cannot use these features (calendar, export, tables etc).

PLEASE HELP!

The key thing to understand about Trello's paid plans (Standard, Premium, Enterprise) is that they are applied per Workspace, not per individual user account.

Here's why you're likely experiencing this, and what you need to do:

  1. Workspaces are Upgraded, Not Accounts: When you upgraded to Premium, you upgraded a specific Trello Workspace. If the boards you're trying to use Premium features on (like Calendar view, Export, Tables) are in a different Workspace that is still on the Free plan, those Premium features won't be available there.

    • Trello Gold (Individual Premium) no longer exists: In the past, Trello had a "Gold" plan that applied Premium features to an individual's account. This was removed. Now, all paid features are tied to Workspaces.
  2. Trial vs. Paid Premium: The free Premium trial typically applies to a specific Workspace as well. It's possible that the trial you started was on one Workspace, and when you "upgraded," you either:

    • Upgraded a different Workspace to Premium.
    • Completed the trial on the same Workspace, but there's a processing delay.

What You Need to Do (Prioritizing the best outcome for you):

To resolve this and get access to your Premium features, you need to ensure the boards you want to use them on are in the Premium Workspace.

  1. Identify Your Premium Workspace:

    • Log into Trello.
    • Look at the left sidebar. You should see your Workspaces listed.
    • Often, the Workspace that is Premium will have some indication (e.g., a "Premium" badge, or it will be the one where you initiated the upgrade).
    • Go to the "Settings" or "Billing" section for your Workspaces – this will clearly show which Workspace is on the Premium plan.
  2. Move Your Boards to the Premium Workspace:

    • Go to each board that you want to use Premium features on.
    • Click the "..." (Show menu) on the board.
    • Go to More > Move Board.
    • Select your Premium Workspace from the dropdown list.
    • Confirm the move.
  3. Confirm Feature Availability:

    • Once the board is in the Premium Workspace, you should now be able to access the Calendar view, Export options, and Tables (if applicable to your version and Power-Ups).

If the Problem Persists After Moving Boards:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, old data can cause display issues.
  • Try a different browser or incognito mode: This can help rule out browser-specific problems.
  • Wait a little: While upgrades are usually instant, there can sometimes be a very short delay for features to fully propagate across the system. Give it 15-30 minutes if you just upgraded.
  • Contact Trello Support Directly: If you've moved your boards to the Premium Workspace and still don't have access, this is the most effective next step. Since you're now a paying customer, you should have access to priority support.
