Boards, lists and cards seem to make up the organizational structure for Trello. I have a few large clients with numerous open projects. I would like to group my projects by client, then have a board for each project.
I could have a board for each client, then make a list per project. The project duration can span years with a lot of sub-tasks. Please suggest the best organization of this type of work flow.
@Wayne Terry I think the best model for project based businesses is having a "board of boards":

In your case, you have multiple projects per client. You could have a board called "Projects" with the lists representing high level project phases, then use labels to distinguish which projects are for which clients. This means you can also quickly filter the board by label to see what projects exist for a given client.
You then have a separate board for each project, linked to the card, so you can click through to "drill down" into the project detail.
You can nest as many boards "deep" as you like, for example if you had a board for a client project, then you had some task within that project that was itself quite a complex project you could just crate another board and link it back to that card.
This is more or less the exact model I use as a demo on my Trellinator explainer video:
Yes: For the most part it did. I am very new at this system and what I am trying to do is over my head, but I got it to work with this answer. I will likely have additional questions though.

Hi @Wayne Terry this project management may meet your needs if you are doing one board per client: https://trello.com/b/cPC4jGzZ/project-manager-sample-board

This is another one where it is one board per client:
