Trello I previously had administrator access under our old domain Since the company domain has changed, my account now appears as a regular user I require administrator privileges again to perform my job responsibilities.
Hi Erick 😊,
I hope you're doing well, and welcome to the community!
Thank you for reaching out. I’ve reviewed the boards and workspaces linked to your account, and I noticed that the only admin currently listed has a different email domain, this may be your old account.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to grant admin access in this situation. Here’s why:
For security reasons, we can only honour admin access requests from the current board admin. We rely on the permissions set within Trello to determine who should have access, and we can’t override these settings retroactively.
We can’t process admin requests from someone other than the listed admin. For example, if someone contacted us from a different email address asking for admin rights to your board, we wouldn’t be able to fulfill that request to protect your account’s security.
What you can do:
Many organizations in this situation work with their IT teams to temporarily reactivate the old employee’s email address.
Once reactivated, you can reset the Trello password via https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/recovering-your-trello-account/
After logging in as the admin, you’ll be able to make the necessary changes to your boards and workspaces.
I understand this is a manual process, but it’s the most secure way to resolve the issue and ensure your data stays protected.
If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please let us know. Wishing you a great rest of your day!
Thanks again for reaching out.
