I set up a rule on a Trello board to have the Butler send me a message whenever a card gets moved to a specific list (I don't want to know about every list, just this one specific list).
It works, I get a Slack notification from Butler saying what I want it to say BUT as soon as I leave that Slack window I can no longer see the messages - I only see the "About" Butler page. The message is searchable, but I can't just click on the Butler app and see all previous notifications. It does not have a messages tab like the Trello app integration does
Is this a slack issue or a butler issue or both?
Hi @Garrett , this is still a problem almost one year later.
And this feature is explained in your docs, so it should work. See screenshot of your docs below:

I experience the same problem as @Maya Hughley reported. Message does arrive in the DMs and they disappear at the moment your navigate elsewhere in slack.
This is probably due to the fact that the Butler app doesn't ask for private messaging permission, this cause the "messages" app tab to be hidden. Should be pretty straightforward to fix IMHO.
Have a nice day,
Antoine.
Hi @Garrett , I'm experiencing the same issue as @Maya Hughley and @Antoine Laffargue described above and wondering if there's a solution in the pipeline?
Thanks!

Hey Maya,
There's not an option to have Butler send a direct message, rather a channel must be selected.
Can you please share a screenshot of how you have your current Butler rule configured please?

Yeah no problem! The rule is actually working the way I want it to, I just wish that the messages from Butler stayed visible in Slack. But I guess because it's not set up to direct message, the messages disappear unless I search for them

I did some testing and I was able to recreate the same thing. I'm thinking this could be something on Slack's side, but either way I'll let the Butler team know about this.
For now, I'd suggest sending that message to a specific channel instead.

Is there a plan to add direct message notifications to Butler? I have a few solo projects in the company where I work and don't want to clutter up the company Slack account with channels.
